Though sweet treats and carnival rides are some of the major draws of the Big E fair in West Springfield, Mass., people come from all over New England to also experience the fair's offerings for live music. This year, acts like Yung Gravy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chase Rice and Jimmie Allen, American Authors and Dropkick Murphys will play at the festival, which begins on Friday and runs through Oct. 2.

In years past, the festival has secured both rising talent and bona fide legends that have gone on to shape the music industry, including Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, "Weird Al" Yankovic, The Supremes, Destiny's Child and Little Richard to name a few. Over the years, that list of musicians has only grown as the fair continues to nab talent right before their eventual explosion onto the music scene — for example, Machine Gun Kelly last year.
