REVIEW – I have now been able to test several tools from Worx and I have become a big fan. This time around I get to test a much-needed tool that will make my DIY tasks so much more flexible especially when I need to take my tools on the road. I am expecting this tool to work as well as the other Worx tools that I have tested. Let’s get started with this Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw.

The Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw features a built-in work holding clamp to hold the workpiece in place on both sides of the blade while cutting, a sliding miter saw blade housing for 8¼ in. maximum cutting capacity and a light-assisted shadow line for cutting accuracy.

Voltage: 20V MAX Battery Capacity: 4.0Ah PRO No-Load Speed: 3600 RPM Blade Size: 7.25 in. Arbor: 5/8 in. Bevel Capacity: 0 – 45° Max Cutting Width: 8.25 at 90° | 5.75 at 45° Max Cutting Thickness: 2.25 at 90° | 1.63 at 45° Unit Weight: 21 lbs.

This miter saw is made of metal but it is relatively lightweight. It includes a locking sliding mechanism, an on/off switch and a safety trigger switch, a lever to hold material securely in place, locking bevel adjustments for a maximum of 45 degrees to the right, a horizontal plane angle range of 45 degrees to either the left or the right. and a dust exhaust and a bag to capture the dust. it also includes extension arms for working with long materials. It is cordless.

The first step is to make sure that the battery is fully charged and ready to go.

Once the battery is installed the next step is to set up the saw to cut your material at the desired angle. At 90 degrees, it will cut material approximately 8 inches wide and at 45 degrees it goes down to about 5 inches. The saw is lightweight and cuts well with minimal vibration. The sliding mechanism is not as smooth as my $500 plus Dewalt, but it is quite good. Best of all the saw is cordless and portable and the battery lets me a lot of cutting before it needs to be charged. I have not yet worked on a project that drained the battery, so I am not sure what action the saw takes when indicating that the battery charge is too low. I do wish that the mechanism to hold the material down to the saw cutting board was adjustable so that I could increase the width and therefore the point of contact with the material. The extension arms work well for long material that is manageable without really long extension arms or additional stands. The shadow line feature works well.

The following is a short video showing the Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw in action. Disclaimer: I have been working with power tools as a DIYer for a long time. The correct way to use this saw is with gloves and the practice of holding the wood with your hands close to the blade is not recommended. The mechanism to hold the material in place should be used. So please don’t do as I do if you are not very experienced with this type of equipment:

I have really become a fan of Worx products and the Worx 20V Power Share 7.25″ Cordless Sliding Compound Miter Saw is another reason why. it is relatively lightweight, easy to assemble and use, includes all of the features I need, and does the job. I love the fact that having other Worx products that use the same battery means that I can use this on a job away from home for a really long time without worrying about the availability of electricity. Once again Worx gets a well done and two thumbs up!!
